A huge fire has started at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, with smoke billowing from the inside of the historic building. Dramatic footage shows Notre Dame engulfed by flames during the blaze at the medieval cathedral. The video was posted on Twitter with the caption “#notredame”. The cause is currently unknown.
However, France 2 television reported that police were treating the incident as an accident.
One shocked user commented: “Please say this isn’t real”.
