The royal couple reportedly enjoyed some alone time at a scenic venue in Ullswater popular for weddings. Kate and William had afternoon tea in a luxury hotel room at the Inn on the Lake, People reported. Royal fans shared pictures greeting the “two very special guests” at the venue.

The venue shared pictures on Instagram with the comment: “Our Sales Manager Teresa and Dani, one of our Hotel Directors both had the pleasure of meeting the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge!

“Oh and some small guests came along too.”

The afternoon tea menu includes fish fingers sandwiches, scones and other treats.

During Kate’s visit in Cumbria she tried he hand at sheep shearing.

The Duchess got stuck in helping the Brown family tend to their flock at Deepdale Hall Farm in Patterdale.

William also got in on some of the action by helping his wife repair a dry stone wall on the estate.

He was also seen shearing some of the family’s flock during the trip.

The couple, who have three children – George, five, Charlotte, four, and one-year-old Louis – also joined the Cumbria Wildlife Trust on a nature walk.

They also heard about peer support networks helping those in the most rural areas and the ways some farms are diversifying.

One well-wisher said of the Duchess: “She said that it was raining a lot and was a long way from their home in Norfolk, but they love it here.”

Kate has a history with the area.

She wrote in a note for her Chelsea Flower Show entry that as a child she used to go “boulder hopping” in Cumbria.
