The French President warned the House of Commons to take the new Brexit pact seriously because it was put together by “real leaders with real strategic thoughts”. Speaking after the European Council summit in Brussels, he said: “I am not trying to read into the future but I do not think we shall grant any further delay. “I think it is a time to put an end to these negotiations and move on to the future relationship.
“It is up to each and everyone to make their own decisions. There should be no delay unless there are major changes.”
Asked his opinion of the Prime Minister, Mr Macron added he was a “real leader with real strategic thoughts and those who do not take him seriously are wrong and will continue to be wrong”.
