One man in his early 20s was found with multiple stab wounds to his back following the knifing in Newham, east London around 1.40pm. Another male in his late teens was discovered nearby with multiple stab wounds to his leg and buttocks. Police officers were scrambled to the scene after reports of a fight. It is not yet known if the stabbings are connected.
An air ambulance landed in the playground of nearby Colegrave Primary School as schoolchildren looked on.
A Police spokesman said: “Police are dealing with two stabbings in Newham. At 13:40hrs on Tuesday, 12 February, police were called to reports of a fight at Whaddington Street, E15.
“A man, believed to be in his early 20s, was found at the locations with stab wounds to his back.
“London’s Air Ambulance have attended the scene.
“Officers were called a short while later at 13:41hrs to reports of a fight at Cruikshank Road, E15.
A man, believed to be his late teens, was located with stab wounds to his leg and buttocks. He has been taken to hospital.
Condition update awaits on both injured persons. At this stage it is too early to say if the incidents are links.”
A crime scene is in place.
