Tottenham welcome Borussia Dortmund to Wembley without star players Harry Kane and Dele Alli after a string of high-profile injuries.

Despite the injury problems faced by Mauricio Pochettino, one injury will come as good news to Spurs fans.

Dortmund will travel to London without their captain and talisman Marco Reus, after he suffered a thigh injury last week.

Reus was a youth player with Dortmund before joining the first-team after spells with both Rot Weiss Ahlen and Borussia Monchengladbach.

The Germany international has score 110 goals for his boyhood club, and has registered 17 goals and 11 assists this season in all competitions.

Sebastian Kehl, a former Dortmund player and current club official, revealed the news in a statement on Monday evening.

He said: “We would of course have liked to have him in London, because his presence is a bit intimidating for the opponent.

“But we’ll compensate for his absence.”

The injury could lead to Chelsea’s summer signing Christian Pulisic coming back into the side, with 18-year-old Englishman Jadon Sancho playing regularly throughout the season.

Pochettino recently claimed that however the season ends for his Spurs players, in his eyes they are heroes.

“People talk about this squad but my players are heroes,” he said.

“What happens happens at the end of the season, they are going to be remembered.”
