Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have an almost fully fit squad to select from ahead of the Red Devils’ clash with Paris Saint-Germain.
United face the Ligue 1 side in the first leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie at Old Trafford on Tuesday, with PSG set to be without both Neymar and Edinson Cavani.
On the other hand Solskjaer has very few injury issues to contend with and will have been boosted by the presence of both Victor Lindelof and Marcos Rojo in training on Monday.
Lindelof missed the 3-0 win over Fulham on Saturday due to a knock but looks fit and ready to return to action against the French outfit.
Meanwhile, Rojo has suffered a nightmare with injury issues this season but was all smiles at Carrington as he continues to work his way back to full fitness.
Rojo is unlikely to feature against PSG due to his lack of recent match action while Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian have been ruled out.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, the Norwegian said: “We are missing Antonio [Valencia] and Matteo [Darmian] – they’re not available, so we have a big strong and healthy squad and with a big game coming up I have many to pick from.
“It would be a risk to play the same XI as the last game, but this is a squad game.
“If we are going to be successful this season we need everyone to contribute and everyone in the squad knows they’ve got a chance to contribute if it’s now or next week or the week after.
“You’ve just got to be ready when you get the chance. That’s how, when I played, the manager was always assuring us when you’re a part of this squad you’re important for us.”
One player almost certain to feature is Paul Pogba, who has been superb since Solskjaer took over at Old Trafford.
The Frenchman has scored eight of his 11 Premier League goals after Jose Mourinho’s departure in December, including two against the Cottagers last time out.
Pogba looked in high spirits during training, with the World Cup winner catching the eye due to his latest flashy fashion accessory.
The 25-year-old was spotted sporting an impressive pair of earrings as he was put through his paces at Carrington.
Pogba has obviously not been put off by fashion-related drama last year where he lost an earring worth £10,000 at the complex.
Despite the Man Utd ace organising a search and offering a reward, Mourinho ended any hopes of his midfielder finding the lost item by having the grass cut – although Pogba appears ready to take the risk again with a new pair of ear accessories.
