That is the opinion of radio pundit and former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino.
Hazard was unable to prevent the Blues losing 6-0 at the hands of Manchester City on Sunday.
A hat-trick from Sergio Aguero helped see off Maurizio Sarri’s side, commending them to a third consecutive away Premier League defeat.
Cascarino says the main difference between the two sides was their defensive responsibilities when the opposition had the ball.
He claimed there are very few players in the Chelsea team who can defend.
And he says Eden Hazard is definitely not one of them.
“Chelsea have too many players who can’t defend,” Cascarino told talkSPORT.
“Take the front three of Chelsea: [Gonzalo] Higuain, he’s not going to defend for you.
“He will certainly lead the line, yes, defending – no.
“Then you go to Pedro, not bad, Hazard, never a defender as a winger.
“And if people want to know why he’s not one of the best three or four players in the world, I think it’s the other duty of the defending side of his game.
“Then you go midfield: Jorginho, can’t defend. [Marcos] Alonso, left-back, can’t defend. [David] Luiz, can’t really defend.
“I think across the board, look at Chelsea’s team, there is so many players who are not good at defending.
“When they’ve got the ball of course they’re top players.
“But without the ball, I thought that was the major gulf between the two teams yesterday.”
